Unit 100 Deer

I drew the region W general deer tag this year and plan on hunting area 100. Has anybody had a chance to check on the area this year? How was the winter kill? Is the drought still hurting the herd? Any info on this area would be apreciated. Thanks.

Drought and horses are devastating to HA 100. You'll see 25 wild horses to every 1 deer. I don't think we had a winter kill to speak of and surprisingly enough the Powder Wash registered some significant rain in the last two weeks but its still pretty burned up. As long as your expectations are reasonable and you have a passion for wild horses like I do (yeah right) you'll have a good hunt. I'm going to scout it a couple of times you never know what will show up. good luck
