Buckspy:
I agree.....I should have said a nice 20-22" 4x4 with no spectacular mass or length.....saying 155+ is a nice buck for public land (unit 33), and although there's certainly greater bucks than that around, taking anything over 140" is a decent buck for public land in Unit 33. In 04' I had (4) bucks standing right in front of me with the smallest being a 165" and the whopper was 185"+......(north of Rifle), but I just can't post unrealistic chances when people ask.....but yes, the chances of taking a unit 33 175" is certainly there.....we just couldn't come up with them this year during the 2nd season.....there's water everywhere this year and in fact had a better chance taking a B&C black bear than a nice muley buck......PS.....Are they closing the Roan Cliffs? We drove through there attempting to hunt the low BLM east of there and saw permanent closure signs for 06'?!?!?
