Unit 36 late bull hunt

Gonna tag along with my buddy that has a 5 day bull hunt and we were thinking mid Dec would be a good time to go. Anyone hunt this unit this late with success? Thanks,

Yes it can be great that time of year, just depends on the ranch he is hunting. Some are loaded with elk in winter some are void of elk. What part of the unit will he be hunting

He told me it is a unit wide land owners tag. He just needs to pick 5 days to hunt.

If he can pick any 5 days it is a private land only tag. It will depend on whether or not the private land is good winter ground for bulls. He really needs to check with the land owner to see when bulls are seen most on the property. If it was a unit wide tag he would have to hunt during one of the the regular season dates.

Yeah there's only 2 rifle Bull hunts that he can pick from. Last one was either last week or starts this week. If he hunting bulls after that it has to be private land only. Better talk to your buddy or he isn't on the straight and narrow

Well just found out his tag was indeed a unit wide bull tag. He thought he could hunt any date between Oct and Dec. This is his 1st time landowner tag. Guess he learned a hard lesson??????.
