i am planning a archery elk hunt this year, was looking for some info about wolf issues in unit 43, thanks for any input. Jon

Definitely wolves in the area, but still lots of game. From what I've seen during archery season is pretty quiet especially along the lake. Most of the unit is pretty rough/steep terrain but if you can get up the mountains you can still bugle them in pretty good. Definitely have side arm.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-27-12 AT 10:32PM (MST)[p]I don't really worry at all about bears personally more dogs and cats. Well in the unlikely event that you'd have a close encounter with any of them they'd probably run away scared BUT the one time they don't you may need it. YouTube: wolves stalk hunters, wolves hunt hunters, etc even add Idaho I think there's a few and that sends a chill down my back so I keep the .45 Close lol. Oh, p.s. No grizzlies that I'm aware of, never seen one in Idaho but know there further north.
