Unit 444 4th Season

Has turned out to be a bust. Other hunters are seeing the same thing, as in nothing. Public land is not very accessible. Hikers and bikers everywhere. Should have listened to the other things around the internet I have read about the urban intrusion and lack of deer. Good unit if you hire an outfitter for private land....

Waste of my points. Had to vent!

It seems like this unit, the deer move down to private early, they know they are safe there, if you see some of those locals on the road they look at you like your a murderer, it would be dumb luck to find a big buck on public ground

Hunting 3rd season right now. I'm a local and I've been hunting 444 for 50 years now. So far this season the deer are real hard to find. Not only Bucks but Does also. Not sure whats happening to the Elk and Deer in 444 but it gets worse every year. DOW must think everything is fine because they keep handing out lots of tags for Deer. They finally realized the elk herds were way down and cut back on them and they better do the same with the Deer.
