Unit 54, Colorado, Archery Mule Deer 2016

Just found out I drew this tag and am curious if anyone has recently hunted in the high country of this unit? or used an outfitter recently for a drop camp? Any thoughts on these questions or just in general about the area greatly appreciated.

That is some beautiful country man. We did some scouting up there last year for Elk, then ended up hunting a different unit. It was well worth the scouting trip just to hike around that place. We went in from the south side west of Gunnison. Saw quite a few deer coming down the lake in the evening, but didn't run in to any on our hiking trips. Of course, we weren't being real quiet either. Kind of hard to be when you're gasping for air. That is steep country for sure.
