Looks like we have decided on the 3rd rifle season for elk in unit 62 and was hoping for some insight. Any help is appreciated. I can make a trip in late August or just waiting and show up the Tuesday before opening day, set up camp and look around. Might save me $800 in fuel to wait.
Don?t have a horse but can use ATV?s to ride to the trail heads and hike from there.
Concerns are snow and getting off of NF or BLM land. The last thing I want to do is cross a landowner and the law.
Any pointers on starting places and good places to park a camper.
