I drew this hunt and was wanting to know if anybody out there has hunted it in the last couple of years. Could u give a guy a few pointers in the right direction. Is there any ranches that are good that a guy might be able to pay a fee and get on. thanks Aaron A

I can hunt archery and the rifle. also drew lope tags in the same unit

I am in the same boat... Will be out last week of september and again 1st week of rifle hunt. My son also drew the antelope tag but not deer. I could certainly point someone in the right direction for sw Colorado hunt for any info.

If I had the tag, I'd show up about 4-5 days before the season opens and scout hard. Was gonna put in myself, but decided to try for a different area after the spring G&F meeting. The biologist & warden for that area were saying they had complaints last season from hunters about lack of quality. They then said deer numbers were down and they had problems finding very many large bucks during their winter counts. As a result tags were cut back.

Triple_BB---Since that area really doesn't have bad winters are there any knoiwn reasons for what you mentioned. Have they just been giving out too many tags and overhunting the unit?

What's your definition of bad. The last two have been colder and we've had more snow than any in the last 15 years...

Thanks, as I didn't realize that particular area had significant snow like you stated. I do know the temps. have been pretty nasty the last couple years though.
