Unit 9 Camping or Motel Recommendations

There is a hotel in Valle that I think runs around 50 bucks a night. Tusyan has a bunch of hotels, it is right next to the grand canyon park entrance. Plan on spending at least 80\ night to over a couple hundred to stay in tusyan. You can camp almost anywhere on both the east and west sides of the unit. Roads 302, 305, 320, 328 are all good enough take an RV or travel trailer. In the summer months the ten x campground could work out as well.

It can get a little pricey in Tusayan, depending on season (tourists visiting the canyon). The 302 road is on the right as you are entering Tusayan (just as you pass the helicopter tours). The first couple miles have some nice camping spots on the north side of the road.

Lots of great places to camp that are just off of 'all-weather' roads. Although last time I was there it was mighty cold for several nights - pretty well froze everything solid.

In Valle there is an okay motel, but few eats. Tusayan is the same distance from most unit 9 hunting areas with better chow options. Plenty of fuel in both places.

Hey kingcrow, check out ceioutdoors.com. They have a publication called the Outdoorsmans Resource Guide. I keep one in my truck. The thing has all the hotels plus a ton of other stuff you might wanna find for that area and the rest of the state.

Good luck on your hunt.

There is 1 motel, 1 gas station & 1 restaurant in Valle. Owned by the same people (Red Lake Lodge & Texaco).

Gas was $3.99 a gallon at Valle

The Cafe in Tusayan is no longer in business. There is a Wendy's, McD's, Sophie's Mexican Kitchen, Canyon Pizza & two Steak houses. 3 or 4 Motels in Tusayan & they will be more pricey.

Gas was $4.29 a gallon in Tusayan (Texaco used to be a Conoco).

Thanks!
