How does unit 9 muzzleloader compare with unit 52? How does the terrain differ? Number of elk, top end elk etc? I have hunted 52 but not 9.

Unit 9 has bigger bulls than 52 but 52 has alot more elk. In 9, you can hunt up high on Taylor or down low in the Pinon and Juniper. Your chances for a bigger bull in 9 are down low IMO. For big bulls I'd give Unit 9 a C+ and Unit 52 a D. For seeing elk and chances of filling your tag I'd give Unit 9 a C and Unit 52 a B+.
