Just got my BLM maps on unit 90 today. I noticed there is a road [136] that goes right through the middle of the unit. Does anyone know if I can get my house trailer down that road okay?
Thanks Don

Well depends on what way your coming in from Riverton way you can turn off after the Indian casino then take the next paved road to the left. From casper you can turn in Waltman paved for a while then turns dirt mostly good road few bumps but not bad I would haul mine down either.

Wow, a house trailer. You know how to camp !! We hunted Antelope in 67 2 years ago and drove 136 every day. It is a paved state highway. No problem getting anything down that road that you could get down any other road. GOOD LUCK. Chip

Thanks you guys. Chip, did you happen to see any deer on that antelope trip and did you get a good one?

Don

Don,
We did get a couple of nice goats. One was just shy of 80'' and the other about 75. The weather was pure horsesh*t though - 8 inches of wet snow. So, we had a tough time getting around. We did see a few deer but not many. The biggest was about a 150 inch 4 point right along hwy 136 on the east side of the unit. Judging from the maps and terrain we weren't in the best deer spots though. As you go farther east and south the country is more broken and most likely holds more deer. We weren't able to get up on the Beaver rim but I think that area holds more deer too. There are some good looking canyons and etc.. that run north from the rim. As you know unit 67 antelope is only the west half of unit 90 deer so I can't be of much help for the east half. I have max points and I've been thinking of applying for deer unit 90. Let me know how you do. GOOD LUCK. Chip

Hunted unit 90 last year.

Had a good hunt, although it had to be cut short due to family reasons.

Went out scouting with my kids in august and saw 128 deer in 2 days scouting, of which 4 were very nice bucks.

I did manage to harvest my best muley, but there are bigger deer out there. As Chip said, look north off the rim. Im still new to this site so not sure how to send a PM, but when I figure it out I can get you more specific info.

Here is my 2009 wyoming public land muley, not huge compared to some ive seen pics of on here, but my best.

Forgot to mention that Ill be down again this year chasing goats in 74, if anyone would have any helpful tips.

Thanks

MnMike,
I noticed that you were there and got your deer on Oct. 21st so guess all the snow melted by that time as we were there a week ahead of you but back towards Casper on the north side of 20/26 for Lopes and Deer. How was the roads etc still muddy or dried out?
Good luck this year and we are going farther north than last year with leftover tags since never drew in main draw.

The roads were in pretty good shape, most of the snow was melted off, except on the north side of the rim. The weather was decent when we where out there, we did have one day of rain/freezing rain and fog.

NoDoe,

That pretty much is what most of the unit looks like. Rolling hills and sagebrush draws.

Not much for timber out there, except along the rim and gas hills area.

You can glass alot of country from on top of the rim.

MnMike I also have a unit 90 deer tag.And a unit 74 antelope tag.I have hunted 74 the last 2 years with family. If you have any ? please feel free to pm me.And if you would like to pass any info on 90 that would be great to!
