Seen! Lots of deer, lots of nice bucks! I really do think wildlife management has done their job. As a 30+ year outta state hunter, I can say... there is a big difference from a few years back, Yes! LOTS of Orange, although not as many as in prior years.
My Brother and I went up.. Without tags and rifles.. Just to be up there for the hunt! Its funny, the place we've hunted either has a few hunters.... Or practically no one! And truth is... ya gotta have guys moving around to keep the deer moving in this particular area.
The only disappointment I've had in Utah was this year, story is..... We come up behind 3 trucks with circa 10 locals... We wait a few minutes, thinking some may have gotten out to pee, after 5 minutes or so... We rolled up behind them, this guys asks us ?where you hunting? we told him we were not hunting... he than say ?well, stay behind us? The trucks were blocking the road... they have even opened both doors so that we could not pass..
Soon as they got into the trucks and close the door....we sped past them... the guys starts hollering at us.... we pressed on... Rifle or not! We had a blast.... Enjoyed the opener.. Watch a lot of action through the Steiner?s .. Watched several bucks take their last steps, seen two real nice four points with a couple of lesser Bucks slip away...
Oh.. Yeah.... the ROADHOGS must?ve fired 40 rounds between the lot of them...
