Finally got the Utah jinx off my back. Though there was a much bigger buck in this group, we were unsuccessful in relocating him after I took this buck. Watched the two spar at about 600 yards, the bigger bucks horns looked to be about a foot wider than this buck which is 22" out to out. The big boy would not come out of the trees so I opted on this one at 400 yards straight downhill. It took my father (three months out of shoulder surgery) and I 6 hours to get him out of that nasty canyon, winching him the last 100 yards almost straight up. This is the biggest bodied deer I've ever had my hands on. We went 2 for 3 on this trip, the other being a small fork. I am very blessed to be able to hunt with my father!
