Utah Cow Elk 2015 Need Help

I would really like to harvest an elk for my parents who are cash poor and could really use the meat. I'm a non-resident have built up 4 cow points and just need pointed in the right direction. So if you know of a tag worth trying to draw and could help out that would be awesome. Also as I read that if you hunt general deer in the unit of your elk tag, that you can harvest both during that time frame. Is this correct and if you kill a deer are you done and then cannot shot a cow elk during this time frame?

If we get a lot of snow....

Put in for the Henefer-Echo cow tag. You'll have to look it up as I don't remember its exact name.

I don't know if they give non-res tas on it or what your draw odds are but with snow you'll be able to kill one.


and BTW nobody believes for half a second that this is a "donation" elk. You could buy beef cheaper than traveling to UT to bring home $100 pounds of burger meat. LOL (I'm just razzin ya)

Yes I understand, but to get the elk hunting is a much better adventure for me and I would rather eat elk over beef bought. Thank you for your suggestion though.

The SW Desert cow hunt is a pretty easy hunt. Should be able to kill a cow in a day or two.
