Verde River Deer?

Over the past few years myself and a few buddies have talked about going on a deer hunt on the verde river (most likely rifle), and I think I am really going to push to try and make that happen this year. I want to float down this spring or summer and take a peak at the country before the season so I was hoping to get some info from someone that has done this in the past. Anything would help. Thanks.

You need to narrow down the unit you want to hunt. Do you know where your wanting to go?

LAST EDITED ON Feb-02-09 AT 10:00PM (MST)[p]I was thinking about hunting somewhere between sheeps bridge and childs, but then again I am really unfumiliar with the area. Unless I am looking at it wrong the river seperates unit 21 and 22 in the area I mentioned above so I would go with 22 first choice and 21 second choice.

The flow is really low in the Summer (at times) making it a tougher float. Plenty of country to hunt. I know guys that have done it... but their success makes the effort seem unworth it to me.... Best of luck.
