Video Cams?

I am looking at purchasing a video cam! I have heard that CANON VIXIA is a good choice! What model is best? What can you guys tell me about them or if there is something better out there? I want something light weight with a good sized zoom on it for backpacking and filming hunts. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

Had a Canon HV30. Small, HD, great little camera. Highly recommend anything Canon but make sure you go HD.
