Vortex CRS shims

I have a 6-24x50 Vortex viper HS-T. Today after shooting I tried returning the turret to zero and the hard stop did not work. It kept rotating never stopping. After removing the turret cap I noticed that I have a little gap with the CRS shims. I don’t have any more shims. Never had a problem before today. Any suggestions on fixing this issue and what caused it to happen in the first place. Google search is indicating shims are no longer manufactured.
