i'm fixing to purchase a new spotting scope for hunting out west. i've been hearing lots of good reports on the vortex skyline and nomad. i'm leaning toward the nomad 20-60 straight eyepiece version. last year i used a leupold seqouia 15-45. i was not very impressed, especially at the higher end of magnification. very grainy. so how does the nomad compare to others in its price range. i would like to stay under $350 for a scope, mainly because i only use a spotting scope for 1 week a year.

I'm going to second what smoktem said about the angled eyepiece. I always thought I wanted a straight scope, but after buying an angled, I don't know what I was thinking. If you can, go somewhere like a Sportsman's Warehouse and try one of each, in positions you would be using while hunting, I think you'll find that the angled is a much more natural position. Scott
