I'm looking to purchase a new rangefinder for an upcoming NM archery elk hunt and I was wondering if anyone might have any opinions on the Vortex. I haven't been able to find many reviews on the Vortex as they are fairly new to the scene. I currently have a Leupold RXII but it isn't the best in low light conditions. I also have the opportunity to use some Leica Geovids but they don't have angle compensation. The Vortex has angle compensation and a red readout so I'm leaning that way.

Any opinions good or bad would be greatly appreciated. Thanx...

Vortex all the way python. I was in your boat earlier in the year and seriously read reviews for hours on end late at night about different range finders. I've messed around a ton with the Leupold and the Leica, but the ranger 1000 was by far the better glass. The warranty just makes it that much sweeter.

PCPython...Got mine For $350 out the door From Cameralandny.
Give them a call they may still have the deal going.
Have not had much time to try it out yet. Only company I know of with a lifetime warranty on a rangefinder!
