Wallow Fire Updates

azbackwoods, I know you are very familar with unit 1, just how bad is the damage. Have you received any rain over the last couple weeks. I have 13 bps and was hoping to hunt unit 1 next year but now I don't know what to do. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks

That whole area has been getting good rains. Some of the areas are burned completely and some are untouched. The areas that I'm saying are burnt completely have nothing but standing burned up trees and the ground is black with no regrowth. The areas where it just burned the undergrowth and still has living trees looks good and has grass growing back already. All the meadows have greened up real nice. Saw several hundred elk in 2 days. They were using the meadows in the morning and were feeding in the burn all day. The rain has caused some real flooding problems. When I get more time I will post some pix of the burn.

Here are a couple of pictures of the area and a few elk. antler growth is real good in the area. I am putting in for sure next year.

I'm glad to see the area is recovering and getting some needed rain. I have the late unit 1 hunt. I was worried about the hunt this makes me feel a little better.
