Water on Ruby Crest Trail

During the ML season, will there be plenty of water along the Ruby Crest Trail? Also, will there be much traffic on this trail during the ML season? Thanks.

If you go in at the Lamoille trail head and follow the trail south the last water you will find close to the trail will be Furlong Lake. After that there isn't any water close to the trail until just before Overland Lake. That's about 15 miles. All water in that stretch of the trail is down in the canyons quite a ways from the Crest trail.

Wes is right. Although there is no chance of dying of thirst it is definitely a climb to the bottom of some of these canyons to get to the water. Do your homework and look on maps to find high elevation lakes. Or if you don't mind hiking down to water then you may find less hunting pressure in the areas with no high mountain lakes but instead have creeks in the bottoms.
On the trail there will be hikers and some hunters. Get off of the beaten path and away from the trail and many times you will hunt alone. fatrooster.
