Waterproofing leather

Normally I use my goretex boots. But had to send them to Alaska to a friend in an emergency.

Now I'm back to leather jump boots. I've put 2 coats of snow seal on them so far. Will they be ok in rain and damp grass?? Put on more layers(heated with hair dryer each layer) or do something else? I do have sealskins that I'll take along on my hunt just in case.

Thanks for the info

Thanks for all the tent info. I'm narrowing down my choices as we speak.

That is all I have every used. Maybe one more coat. Should protect from wet grass and an occasioal mud puddle, but I don't know of anthing that will really waterproof them if you walk in many creeks. I have always used snow seal on the leather parts of my goretex boots too. Keeps the leather from getting wet and making the boots heavier.

Thanks, dont' intend to walk in puddles or streams, but may be hunting in the rain or crossing small streams.

Will put on another coat and hit it with the hairdryer and sleep easier.
