Weather in unit 34

Hey guys I'm going to unit 34 from October 8-12 on a elk hunt. Just wandering what the weather is like on a normal year. Getting some new gear for my birthday. Is good rain gear a must have. Never been to NM. I've always hunted in Colorado and Utah in late October early November. Thanks

I live here year round and have seen all types of weather at that time. You might see the tail end of monsoon season, so a rain jacket is a good piece of gear to have. On the other hand, you might be walking around in a sleeveless shirt. Depends on where you hunt also, high country sees lower temps and the low country doesnt take much to warm up. Good Luck.
