I've been watching these forums this year and last year and have noticed that the public land hunters are still taking down big bulls and mossback isn't.
It seems to me that mossback used to have the best guides in the state and if a unit had a 400" bull mossbacks guys were on it. Well, I've been talking to him these last two years and watching what he's been killing. He hasn't been seeing much in the way of 400 inch bulls in utah and hasn't even been able to get his hunters on any, including the governors tag holders.
One would think that if doyle isn't finding/taking 400 inch bulls that utah just doesn't have any. Well I think its kinda wierd that pahvant, dutton, boulder, sw desert, and san juan are still kicking out 400 inch bulls. Sure they aren't everywhere but if doyle was the type of guide he once was don't you think he would have some of these bulls on the ground? I know he's putting arizona 400's on the ground but I think most people with an arizona governors tag could do the same also. I kinda think the glory days of mossback are over and was wondering if you guys think the same. Did his best guides move on? Did something change in his organization? why isn't he finding theses 400's? I thought he was suppose to be the go to guy if you wanted a big bull. Seems to me like Utah no longer has a guy who can get it done. Am I wrong?
NM's goto guy was Ross Johnson. He died and still noone has filled his shoes. I know its a dumb subject but its the off season and I was just brain farting of what has happened with the mossback organization. Seems they can't kill big animals unless its on an island mimicking a high fence hunt or its in arizona with a year long tag. What are your thoughts?
