Just wondering what you that have a 7mm Rem prefer for your powder. I am shooting a 140 slug. What is the prefered powder? thanks.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-10-11 AT 05:01AM (MST)[p]In my REM 7MM mag I have never used the 140 grain bullet ,but have shot Hornady 154 and 175 grain. With the 154 grain I use IMR4350 and the 175 grain I shoot IMR7828.These powders have gave me good results.

I have a few friends that like Reloader 22 in there 7 mag.

Another vote for RL22.

We use 160 grain bullets in our 7mm mags and like the RL 19 powder 61.5 grains.

Many years ago when I had my first 7MM a friend of mine's dad reloaded for me and he used IMR 4831, 67gr with CCI large rifle magnum primers. Of course we had not chrono back then, I know my ruger liked this combo, the bullet I was using was a 162 BTSP hornady. Very accurate. That is for what its worth.
I see in all the reloading books that they say max is below that.

I just switched from 160 partitions to 140 tipped triple shocks. My rifle (post 64 model 70, Douglas barrel)will shoot just about anything. H1000 and H4831 have delivered for me.

Venison and Zinfandel are GOOD!
