Those are blue slate turkeys. They are a natural dominant color mutation of heritage turkeys (not selected for meat production). My guess is someones blue slate hen escaped and got bred by the wild tom. The Fish and Game should get that problem fixed ASAP!
 
Who cares, tell me were they are I want one!!! It would look great mounted with the rest of the slam. I can be there in 3 days, if I skip going to KS!!!
 
You guys are all wrong. That is a perfect illustration of where light meat and dark meat come from.(or where dark meat has been, if you know what I mean)

I was driving down the road the other day about a 1/2 mile from my house and saw this along the side of the road. I was thinking,"man what stupid turkeys". It turns out they belong to a neighbor that lets them run loose. Now that turkey season is open, I think he better pen them up.
