i'm trying to decide which type of shooting sticks to get for an upcoming mule deer hunt. in recent years i've been using a harris bipod (9-13')which has worked fine. i just thought, in the event cover was too high for the bipod, that it would be a good idea to have some sticks for shooting in a kneeling or sitting position. i've been looking at the stoney point type that go together like poles on a tent and i've been looking at the telescoping bi-pod type. which would you get?

The ones I like, I got at Cashway's in Craig Colorado. They are wood and are about 30" tall. I tried the telescoping bi-pod and mono-pod type, but they just weren't as easy to use or as light weight.

I use the Stoney Points. But, if you decide to use them, consider the magnum style. Mine aren't, and I wish they were a little heavier. mtmuley

I made some. Some 36" X 5/8" wood, a nylon nut and bolt, and a couple strips of leather. Cost maybe five bucks, shoots great, and don't worry about losing it.
