Im casting these! 345gr after I lube them. I've only shot one 3 shot group at 50 yards with 80gr olde eynsford 1.5fg and they did excellent. After rendezvous I will sit down and do some load development and see what they can really do.
1:48 twist .50cal Traditions St.Louis Hawken loves big heavy conicals but most importantly, she also loves patched round balls.
I didn't draw an elk tag so if I do go over the counter bull elk, I may take her out anyway with the 395gr plains bullets that I cast. This bullet shoots well under 2" at 100 yards with ease. I can also add a hollow point to this bullet if I need I need a little more expansion. Which I highly doubt with such a wide meplat.
