Why Don't They Finish?

My pet peeve is the guys in the Olympics who don't push to the end of their races. Bolt coasted to a world record in the 100 meters by showboating at the end. A Cuban hurdler just did the same thing in the 110 meter hurdles.

Can't they just give it their all for the final fraction of a second and honor a committment to give it their best to the end? Don't they owe their sport that much? Seems to be setting a terrible example to me....

Maybe so they can break their own records again, knowing they COULD have gotten an even quicker time had they pushed to the end??
