Will big changes be coming to Northwest Colorado in 2024 to save the herds?

Just FYI the great managers at CPW as still sneaking in stupid BS. IN the section considering increased/added 4th season tags for the Mesa, they show a chart... On that chart anyone notice how the chart has bucks into 3 categories Yearling, 2 year old's and then mature. Not sure many people agree that 3 is a mature buck.

Then under the same graphic. One reason they are justifying the later season tags is to "reduce CWD" by taking old bucks (yes the same bs line that they used to destroy the age class of buck around meeker and Craig), They are now using to justify more take around the Mesa. The problem is the current infection rate for muck deer in the area is 2% or less... Yes 2% for all bucks in the herd, but somehow destroying the age class will make that better.

Also note that they are moving to strike electronic calls for lion hunting in areas where they were allowed. Why? Because it is not effective at meeting harvest objectives. It provides opportunity, and allows for some lions that might not be otherwise harvested. But now they are moving to get rid of it.

Anyone who has worked to call ions can tell you it is without a doubt the hardest predator in NA to call. With hand calls there is a very real chance at physical harm. With an E caller there is less chance of harm to the hunter, also with an e-caller there is greater opportunity to assess the lion, age and sex are more likely to be identified allowing for a more selective harvest.

Check out the proposal on page 26... in the previous paragraph they propose limiting the number of permits for elk during season 2 & 3. Then the next proposal is to still allow unlimited permits for private land, that might be the most obvious example of pandering that I have ever seen.

What the private land herds don't need the same protection as herds on public land? It is hard to have any respect for the idiot that fronted this proposal. What a crock or should I say crook?
