Winchester 1885 Low Wall

Any 1885 Low Wall experts here? I have a buddy that has one in 22short.... Its not a "winder musket". It's not all origional.... It has a custom maple stock and has been recambered to 22lr. What I dont know is wether its a "thick side" or a "thin side" or how to tell. I know its tuff without pics but what else do I need to determine a ballpark value?

UHH..... Thanks? LOL.... The ones I saw on gunbroker started at $1500 and went way the eff up from there. Hopefully I can get him in contact with someone who can accuratley appraise it.
