LAST EDITED ON Feb-07-04 AT 11:31PM (MST)[p]There's a bunch on Ebay. Are you aware Swarovski's warranty is only good for the original owner? I'd guess chances are pretty slim that a guy would ever need warranty work, but $1000.00 or more (used prices) is a lot of money to spend without the comfort of knowing a warranty is in place should you ever need it. It's always griped me that Leica and Swarovksi charge so much for the binos, but they won't cover them for whomever owns them. Now Zeiss on the other hand, will cover them for life, no matter who owns them. I know some guys have said Leica and Swarovski would never leave a person hanging, but I don't know as I'd want to be the test case.
If you don't mind me asking, where do you live? The reason I ask is because there's a shop in Orem, Utah (Van Wagenen's) that is an authorized Swarovski dealer, and while they don't currently have any in stock, they were selling the 8/10x42 EL's for $1150.00. I was just in there on Friday, and they had a brand new pair of 10x42 SLC's (with Swarobright) in the cabinet for $959.00. I've personally never been a big fan of Swarovski binos, but there are plenty of guys out there who are. If you're at all interested in the SLC's, that's as good a price as you'll ever see on a new pair.
Good luck.
