Dreamer,
I also drew 35! I will be going DIY so no hunting the wilderness for me unless my resident brother decides to go?! Good luck on finding an outfitter and if anyone is willing to give up some general information for Dreamer or I we would sure appreciate it.
Jake
Congrats on your 35 Draw--
It's not a big Area, relatively, but you are going to want to go in a little early, find the Elk, they'll be moving by rifle season, and hopefully stick to them for opener. Don't forget Deer Rifle starts Oct. 15 also.
I also drew 35 as NR. Anyone willing to share any info I would be much appreciative. I will DIY the last 2 weeks of Sept. Anyone willing to share the quality of elk in this unit? I am plannin a couple of scouting trips this summer.
I drew as well except mine is the type 9 archery only. Also looking for some info as well. I have hunted deer around Sheridan but didn't spend much time in the Bighorns. There will be no hunting from the rest of you for the last two weeks of September until I've got my archery elk ya hear me! LOL. I to am planning some scouting trips. I live in Utah, maybe we could scout together if anyone is interested. Sure would cut down on costs. Just an idea.
Are all of you planning to do a do it yourself hunt? I live in Buffalo Wyoming and I have hunted the area numerous times. I had a type nine last year. I have been stumbling around these mountains since I was a kid. As a residence I have not applied yet so I don't want to give up any of my honey holes yet, but always willing to try and help out.
