I would think the hunters have a good chance to win in civil court: what damage did the landowner sustain?? I suspect they suffered zero loss monetarily. The only loss I see is the money they would have gotten by hunting PUBLIC land. That won’t play well to a jury (or Judge)

That said, civil court is where money/deep pockets matters. If the landowners lose in the first court, it’s not done. They can appeal to a higher court, and then a higher court, and then…

Prob need to contribute to their defense fund again if it goes to civil court.
