Wyoming Region R

Considering Region R for a public land DIY hunt. What should I expect for public land access, roads, and quality of deer? Looks like the northern part of the region is more rugged. One party member recently had 3rd back surgery, so we may stay in the southern part.

NR's with 2 points so we should draw in the regular draw. Have hunted Region C several times so will probably use that as a second choice.

Any info is appreciated. PM's also.

Region R is not known for quality deer. I bought a tag several years ago since I had an elk tag and wanted to make it a combo hunt. Saw a handful bucks and shot a 135” 4x4. I would only hunt deer on that unit if I had an elk tag.
