I hunted this area in 2002, I didn't hunt the opener but hunted the end of September. From what I saw the drought really did a number on the horn growth. Almost the whole zone is public, but it is very difficult to draw (5%-8%) We looked over hundreds of bucks in the 13-14 range. Had a lot of fun looking over that many antelope. We ended up taking a 14" and a 14 1/2" both with good mass. good luck in the draw.
