X9A deer tag

Does anybody have info on a quality area in the zone? There are three hunters in my party. I have horses and enough time for an opener hunt and possibily a closer hunt. Scouting isn't an option, except for a day or two before the opener. Any info is much appreciated, thanks.

I hunted the archery season a few years back. We hunted up from Grant lake along the June Lake Loop and saw several bucks ranging from small forks to 21-22 inch 4x4s. The mountain is big and steep but the Yosemite border is at the top.
We also saw some bucks on Reversed Peak about the same size. There is also some good looking area around Saddlebag Lake but never really scouted it. I ended up taking a fork. Hope this helps, Good luck.

Horse pack in head northwest.Mt lewis Beautiful country.Hunt south facing slopes. Have a map that I am copying for another hunter hunting x9a. I'll send it to ya if your interested. Gary

Sorry, I've been working too much to login. Also deer season started at home, A zone, no luck yet. I will be headed up to x9A on sept.18, only one day of scouting, tough but hopefully luck will be on my side. Thanks again.
