Youth encouragement!

Ok all the units i know are sold out! Looking to get my daughter her first elk any recommendations on whats left! 16a maybe or some other. Never been to 16's but hear there good.

Any help would be appreciated!

Any of the 16s are good. As long as she can walk a mile or two shouldn't be too big of a deal.

The youth encouragement hunts can be complicated in that some of the hunts in November are the weekend after 2 previous high number of tag cow hunts. The elk numbers in my opinion have been better in December after the pressure has gone away for a few weeks to a month and most of the elk are down from the high country. The 16'S will pretty much always be good but 51,52,53,and the 6's are pretty good in December with good success rates.

Can't beat unit 15 only problem is it is a muzzle hunt. Son killed a cow there every year he had a tag.

I went with 16A and it is the dec hunt in the past I have had better luck in dec also.

Never been to 16A I was google scouting and like the area south of reserve. I think we will start there.

Any other ideas would be appreciated.

I usually hunt 34 or 45 so never had any luck drawing 16's
