Yvon Chouinard on Meateater

LAST EDITED ON Oct-01-19 AT 12:20PM (MST)[p]If you have an opinion based on the "legend" of him, you should listen to him actually speak for himself.

My opinion:

Not my kind of guy. Kind of a crank. Some of his "beliefs" are hypo critical. But he's not quite the flaming tree hugger some on our side portray him to be. I'm not a climber so his passions differ from mine.

And BHA aside. If he helps out 51% of the time on public land, it's a win.

If we could convince him to support the "backpack" tax, it could really help.

Id drink a beer with him. Wouldn't want him for father in law.

But you should listen.

About sums it up for me also.

You can't help but admire a man who's accomplished what he has. I agree with him on many, if not most, things outdoors-related.

Yet it does always amaze me how some guys who are so obviously smart can be so incredibly wrong on some issues.

Somewhere I guess there is a point?

The guy likes grizzlies So?

He also likes stream access. Since there are no grizzlies in Utah or Colorado, but there isn't access to streams, I'll take his work/money to help change that. When there are huntable populations of grizzlies in Utah, then I'll argue.
