Guys Im looking to buy a new scope and really like the Conquest HD5 in the 5-25x50 with the turret on top. Its going a 300 RUM. Its going to be my hunting rifle but also to take out and shoot some long range with it. Ive heard that you can't get enough MOA travel out of the scope when you set the zero stop is that true? Any other information would be appreciated. Thanks

I run Nightforce on my long range rifle but i use Zeiss glass in my other optics. You just can't beat the clarity of Zeiss, period.
I don't have an educated opinion on the tactical scope or it's available MOA, but if you use a 20 MOA base rail, that'll put you out to 1000 yards by itself.

I am running the HD 3x15 with Kenton turrets on a 300wsm and a 257 Weatherby Mag.So far I am impressed. On a antelope hunt it was close to a 100 degrees and a mule deer hunt -15 and no issues. All though my farthest shot attempt and hit was 650 yards and the closest was 70 it was dead on.I liked the combo for weight, brightness, and price.

From what I can see, the HD5 only allows 16.5 MOA between stops when the zero stop is used. That is not enough travel to get from a 200 yard zero out to 1000 yards with most setups. On your 300 RUM it would get you to about 800 with a 200 yard zero, or 900 with a 300 yard zero.
