Zeiss tripod adapter

Almost pulled the trigger on a new pair of Zeiss 10x42 conquest HD and discovered no 1/4 screw in thread for tripod mounting for those long glassing days.

So did a quick search on tripod adapter and discovered it cost $220!!!! Really? That's 1/5th the price of the bino!!! Thats worse than cell phone accessories! No freaking way I'm paying that much.

This is my first top tier binocular purchase, so maybe I didn't realize they're all built this way...either way, that's a lot of money for an adapter.

Before I spend $1,000.....any Zeiss owners here with a better and cheaper option for a tripod mount?

Nikon makes one that will work for $35, its a copy basically of the Leica universal mount.

Bushnell makes one as well.
$22...on ebay.

Wife and I put our Zeiss Victories on them and they seem to be holding up great, and...they are ultralight for the weight fanatics out there.
