15 Utah LE Elk points....Question

I have 15 resident Elk points in Utah and am struggling a little with what to do. It looks like I can draw pretty much any tag out there, except the Pahvant or San Juan rifle hunt. I am leaning towards the San Juan Muzz hunt. Unless I get lucky I could be waiting for maybe another 5-6 years to draw the San Juan rifle, which will be about the time the spike hunting on the San Juan's will really start to show its impact. I am also thinking about maybe putting in for a lesser hunt, like the La Sal?s and trying to get the premium tag. What do you guys think?

Scratch any though of the la sal's out of your head you have waited way too long to dump your points on that. Stick with the san juan for couple of more years. Than look at a premium on the wasatch, manti, or nebo. Or, possibly a southern unit with a muzzy tag somethin like that.

berryblaster I live very close to both of these units. I moved here about 6 years ago from Sevier County and the first year I was down here my father drew a Manti rifle tag. He ended up killing a book bull, however the drive back and forth to the Manti every weekend almost killed me and got me divorced.

If you live close, I would not even consider changing units, but, if you want to hunt it sooner than later, the muzzy tag should be great this year, especially considering the dates, which will be pushed almost into October next year.

With the information given, I would go with the muzzy tag.

This is a problem I need.

I would go for a premium tag. If you lived in Sevier County you should know which premiums you can draw on good units. Good luck.

In 7 years I'm going to look you up and find out what you did and what you should have done lol...only 7 more long years til I have that wonderful problem ;-)
