Now the Monroe has produced the new World Record bull elk, do you think this will create a rush of new applicants for this unit this year, knowing that the genes are there?
The odds have always been bad, but what do you think now?

Yep! No question. I think it will take a few years for people to realize just what a freak the spider bull was. The first year after the very first 400" bull was taken off the Pahvant the applicants tripled.

I thought that there was going to be a huge increase of applacants in the books after mossback killed that hugh 6x6. but if you look its been a steady decline for both early and late since they killed it. In fact the Late hunt (witch is the hunt the bull was killed on) peaked in '06 the year it was killed. So it might not have much of an effect on the monroe ether.

There are a lot of bulls with some screwed up antlers up there, so maybe that is the trait coming out. I've seen some butt face ugly bulls up there...I was afraid it may have come from the bulls breeding the bulls problem we have addressed? LOL..
I don't know what the hell they're thinking with the new pisscutter hunts all over the place, but they will definately thin out the chance of any more big crazy bulls...
I would like to hear the truth and the whole truth about that bull, but until somebody comes up with something better than what we now know, guess we're all stuck with that.
I'm sure that the place will be over run with hunter on the new pisscutter shoot, and everyone that kills can say they now have a piece of Spyder???
I'm out of the pool anyhow, so about all I can do is pick up Spyder offspring nuggets, or sheds?
I think half the things that the big boys do defeat the purpose!
We had a good thing, and they think it is broke?

speaking of the Skoronski bull, we videoed a bull the weekend before he was killed that after comparing video, was definately an offspring of the S bull. He was in the 340-350 range, but was definatley related.... He would be a stud if he is still alive....
You would think there would be a few bulls around out there that resemble the big boy!

Rick, thats cool, I found a set of sheds this year off of bull I figured was about a 3 year old(real small pedicals and not much mass) that looked alot like the S bull. Scored about 315 but all the points were Long for his overall size, hopefully he lived and I can find his sheds this year.

Here is a pic of those sheds.

Also I was at the bow shop here in Vernal yesterday and seen a pic of a bull from out there that looked just like him that was about a 370 bull I think he only had 45" or smaller beams but everthing else was LONG.

JakeH - that left horn in the first picture looks very similar to the Skoronski bull genetics. I wouldn't be surpirsed at all. And I've got one question for you dude......what the hell did your mama feed you when you were little?LOL

Jake, I believe those sheds definately have some of the S bull genes in him. When I seen the bull that I'm talking about, I mentioned to my son that he was a good bull with greatness coming if he could get thru a season or two. And then when I saw the S bull on video a couple days later, I knew that they had to be related and the S bull was more that likely his daddy.
If that bull is still roaming out there, I'm betting another 400 will be coming off of there soon.
Hope you can find those sheds from that bull again. It would be interesting to see them as they progress..
I love to sit and watch the videos of that S bull. He moves with so much grace with those huge antlers..
