Crawford Muzz Bucks

Anybody hunt or know anybody that hunted the late Crawford hunt? Just wondered if any big boys got shot out there this year. This is sure a hard hunt to draw, but I have only heard of a couple good bucks coming off it over the last 3-4 years. I'm sure there are some good ones I didn't hear about though. Just wondered what you guys had heard so far this year. Thanks for sharing.

I'd love to see some pics of some BIG bucks from the Crawfords.

I think it's the most overated deer hunt in the state, but would love to be proven wrong.

I used to follow my dad around on the Crawfords growing up and used to see some really nice bucks. He has a nice flat-wide 3x he took when we were out there one year.

I was able to hunt the unit here a number of years back when they opened it up for one year to general rifle - (maybe it was one weekend? - can't remember) but we saw JACK that hunt out there. Some crab claw smallies, but nothing great.

I had the tag two years ago and I was very disappointed. Probally was a great hunt when the season went until the end of Dec. I saw 50-60 bucks a day, lots of 22-24in bucks I saw one buck 29 or 30" wide that spooled me. I guess I expected to see more quality deer than I did. Oh well I can start applying again this year.

I took a guy to some areas that I know of. He ended up taking a very heavy 26" 4 point. I wasn't with him that day and I am still waiting for the pic's.

It can be a really difficult hunt. However, if it snows it can be great. When (or if) I ever get the pic's I will post them.

Compeletly weather dependant hunt. You are hunting Wyoiming's deer after their regular season and Wyoming's deer herd is down. If Wyoming deer numbers rebound then the hunt is great. If the numbers rebound AND you get some weather then it can be the best muzzleloader hunt in the state. I hadf a friend up there with a tag this year. He passed on 30-40 22-25" bucks, missed a heavy 190 28"+, and couldn't sneak in on 2 other great bucks.

It is a gamble, but it can be great.
