How much more growing time?

I was able to get out to an area that I could glass from yesterday evening. I watched elk in the same general area late last summer. This was earlier than I glassed this area last year and the elk were scattered out across a larger area, but I did spot a few bulls. Two bulls looked really good. While they were a long way off, and tine length was difficult to judge, there was no mistaking the frame (main beam length and spread) of the largest one.

How much more growing time do they have?

They are usually done growing about the first week of August around here in central Utah.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-07-10 AT 05:44PM (MST)[p]I have been asking myself this same question. I went scouting over the weekend in my elk area here in NW wyoming and seen a lot of really good bulls. Maybe some experts can tell us how many more inches the bulls will put on.

generally the first couple weeks of august they will stop growing
