Any theories why he didn't grow?

I agree with gator. Anytime an animal has an injury. It's body will supplement the injury with the nutients that would typically go to it's antler growth. This could have come from being shot last season or from getting gored during the rutt or another injury.

I know of a bull like that and he was one bad mother! he was a big, mature dominant bull and he was deadly with that spike side. The landowners finally had to shoot him (legally tagged) because he was killing too many other bulls.

My dad shot a 7x1 many years ago and it was by far and away the biggest body size I have ever seen. He was the king. Had the 7pt side matched he was a 370 class bull. Would be interesting to know what happened to this bull and that bull. Always fun to see.

BigPig,
Goring them I guess? Where at in the neck, or the side? I'm curious

Its just bad genetics. The other possibility is he broke the antler off into the pedicle and he won't ever grow right again! Kill that thing with a spike tag please!

I just call em as I see em!

Its in Arizona and I have a tag so there's no point limits or rules. Just don't know if he's unique enough to shoot him! I had the same tag last year and spent 19 days up there and wished i didn't pass on so many now. So i've dropped the standards a bit this year! Still don't know if i'll release on him tho!

Would love to see that in Utah on a spike only unit!

In the neck, in the armpit, eyeballs, you name it. That thing was a killer.

Great opportunity for a spike hunter in Utah... (I realize this in not a UT bull).

Last year on the muzzleloader deer hunt I hunted the North Slope Uintahs. Saw 2 big 6x1 that would have made great trophies... They were opposite each other so I doubt it was genetics. But they were in the same area, and I had never seen that before. One had a long spike like this one above, the other had one of those crazy clubs hangin down...

Thanks for sharing..!
