I heard a rumor that the Utah Sportmans tag was filled this weekend anybody else hear about this.
 
I heard it was a 275 lb doe.

i actually just returned from the unit that this buck was supposivly killed on. a guy i talked to down there said it was in the 240 range but thats just talk. im just telling ya what i heard.

What a hog! Does anybody know where this deer was taken? If not, does anybody recognize the scenery in the background? I am curious if it was shot on the Henry Mountains.

That is a very impressive animal, Congrats. to the gentleman wha harvested the animal. As far as the all the people maybe it is his family and friends, let's not be so critical of each other we dont know what happened so who are we to judge?


I hate looking like a idiot but I have to ask why is it not ok to post pics. of these bucks? Why would somebody get in trouble for posting somebody elses pics?

I'm not saying the hunter paid huge money.
Someone asked why a person would be in trouble for posting photos of a monster buck without permission.
All the hunting magazines request that you don't spread the photos around before they get a chance to publish them.
The $$$$$$$$ I was referring to was that of the magazine sales.

The hunter should be given credit where it is due. His name is Mark Hogan, and is one of the nicest guys I know. I don't know anyone who deserved this deer more. We call the buck "the Hulk" or "Hulk Hogan." I'll leave the story to him and his family, but whoever posted my pictures should have thier a#$ whooped.
 
oh, and I should have mentioned, I'm the one mad about the pictures. I sent them to some select friends and now they are all over the place. Its my bad, honestly! I think there are some outfitters in alot of hot water because of this deer and we were hoping things would cool over before the pictures got out.

I could just see where some of these guys were taking this and I just don't want to see this buck get tainted by some wayward comments that are totally underserving. A beautiful buck (surrounded by a certain amount of controversy)It seems like ALL the big ones are anymore. Some occasionally legitimate (controversy) but most just out of jealousy.
Congrats on a superior buck, I love those bases. Sounds like a deserving hunter and some other very happy guys that got to help out.

I had the opportunity to meet Mark this past winter, just after he drew the tag, while out on the Bookcliffs. He came up, knew who I was, (even though I had no clue who he was at the time), and said "Hello". What a super nice guy in my opinion. I'm pumped for him! No controversy from me, he's getting a huge pat on the back for a job well done!!! I know he worked had and did his homework to get this buck! Great Job Mark!!!

Dallan, I guess you'll just have to post em on bowsite, graybeard etc. Or just share out your immagestation, photobucket etc and post the link in every room you happen to visit. If the guy with the shots didn't want them public... they'd have kept them private.

Thats a classy thing to do and say. You have to love it when fellow "hunters" would show such a complete lack of respect and disregard for a mans wishes after he takes the deer of several lifetimes.

Its amazing to me that the very same people that ##### and moan about the average hunter not having a chance to compete with "big money guys" would do this. This is the "average Joe" and he scouted his tail off. Why would you want to try and steal his thunder? Are you guys really that pathetic? Please allow the hunter to make up his mind when and if the pictures get out, allow him to enjoy this moment because it probably wont happen again.

Just to let ya know, it was me who recently nuked the post with the pics in them. I was asked to by the author of that post. This was just in the last hour. He had deleted them from photobucket and they were still showing up here.
 
No offense Drum, but was there a request made to remove the pictures? If so why did a mod not post the request and state why they were removed so we can all know about it. I am more than happy to respect the pictures owners wishes but its pretty hard to know what those are he doesnt make it known, expecially when these picts got their start by being mass mailed out.

All i know is that the original pictures in this thread got screwed up with the photobucket links, I thought I was helping people out by posting working links to them but I guess not.

Pardon me for trying to be helpful to those who didnt see the picts... I guess I'm just a "pathetic" hunter who leaps at the chance to show a "complete lack of respect for a mans wishes" (even though I guess someone has ESP to know what those wishes are because I sure didnt see a request to not show them), by "stealing his thunder".

The guy killed a truely amazing deer and like you said we should be celebrating his accomplishment not slinging mud and names around like you just did.

Perhaps its time to move on to greener pastures if everyone including mods here at MM are so uptight.

LMAO, I figured it out :)

Yesterday there was a post made early on with the photobucket pictures of the deer.

This morning I checked the thread and saw the links were broken, only showing the default "photobucket broken link" images.

People stated they had missed it and wanted to see them. So I reposted working links (post #49).

Sometime around early after noon, someone nuked my post and a couple that followed it.

I posted asking why?

BCBoy mentions he deleted the post. I assumed he meant mine, in reality he never saw mine. That is where the confusion came from.

That is a tremendous buck, the pics are great, (even the third time LOL). Congrats to the hunter I can't imagine even seeing something that big let alone getting a chance to take it.

Again, congrats to the lucky hunter!!!!!! I can't get over that buck.
 
So what the hell is going on with this thread. If a guy didnt want his pics getting out why did he let them out.

What exactly is the problem with this deer that things need to cool down before posting pics.

If you shoot a deer out of someones pen there probably going to remember what it looks like two months from now.

Im guessing the answers to all my questions are the posts that have already been nuked.

I think it pretty screwed up we have to have someone decide what we can read or see on this web site. I come on here to see big bucks or bulls not to read a bunch of bs about how maybe someone poached this buck or used a chute plane or 25 guides, I could give a s### one way or another. I just what to see this super animals if the hunter wants to come on and tell the story so much the better. I'm not some little kid that has to have somebody else decide what I should read or see. What the hell is the matter with everyone.

Too funny. Seriously, who runs this place? Anyone in particular or is it just a clique of guys and no one is in charge? I love all the nuking! It makes me laugh. SFW, Magazines and preferred poachers get protection except sometimes they can't even agree on those things.

I missed most of this until a few hours ago. Apparently, the photos were deleted because a moderator felt that the hunter may not have wanted them posted on the Internet.
In the future, moderators will only be deleting posts that violate rules or that have an ALERT sent. It's not our job to try and decide if permission has been granted for every photo posted in these forums.

Sorry guys! The photos are gone. I didn't even get to take a good look at the buck. Hopefully the guy who shot the deer will send them and I can get them posted in the Photo Gallery. I'd like to see the buck too! Not sure what magazine they'll be in, but I only get Trophy Hunter. Plus, I don't want to wait 2 months to see them! Send me the photos dude!!! EVERYONE wants to see your big buck!!!!

The original pictures were removed by the guy that posted them. NOT A MODERATOR!

I then removed a post that basically stated he didnt care what the wishes of the owner of the pics were and he reposted the pics. I felt that the post was inflammatory and needed to be removed so I removed it. In the future I will send an "alert" so that Founder and the other mods see what I removed.

What you all dont know is that I sent the owner of the pics a PM and asked that he either come on and ask that the pics not be posted or post them himself. We would all be bent if somebody posted pictures of yours without permission. I truly hope the guy comes back on and post the pictures up, its a tremendous deer and I cant wait to see them again. I just feel that the old addage that sometimes its better to ask for forgivness later than it is to ask for permission now is wrong in this instance due to the fact that he has already voiced his displeasure that they were posted in the first place and that the original poster had removed them per his request.

I reposted the links and there was ZERO talk in the post other than saying what an impressive deer it was. Later someone else made the inflamatory post that you are referring to. Somehow you have mixed it up in your head that I posted the links AND made inflamatory remarks which is absolutely NOT true. I got online yesterday morning, the links were broken and people were posting that they didnt get a chance to see it. I posted working links and that was it until it all got deleted.

If that is the new policy here on MM everyone is in for sore disappointment. We just dont have that many members to have that many pictures being posted. 80% of what gets posted here is posted by someone else, even Jeds deer from last year as well as the UT record elk.

If a picture gets posted that the owner wants removed its only courtious to do so, but to take the initiative and suspect everything is a bit of overkill.

Really these seem to be UtahShed's pictures, he claimed ownership. You should have waited until HE asked for them to be removed?

Completely Awesome Buck! Congratulations to the hunter! These are the kind of pics that keep some of us dreaming and going all season long! Glad I was able to see the pics, thanks!

It's nice to see the harvest before the season ends, everyone else already knows about it, and I have to wait for the next edition of muley crazy or trophy hunter (you get the point)! I really hope the hunter understands how much excitement, hope and encouragement many of us here get out of seeing a tremendous buck like that before the season, even though others may be unintentionally affected. Congrats again!
