I was wondering where I can look for some bucks, My uncle went there last year and he is going again I am going with them. But He is a road hunter really, He might get out and walk a few hundred yards but not much. I am not like that so I am going to try to go at least once to go scouting. I was wondering where I should look, I have never been up there. I am just looking for a place to look for some deers. If you have hunted up there and have any pics of deer that you have taken that would be great.

Thanks Mike

as a former box elder county boy you need to know that snowville is mostly private best chance at taking a buck is gonna be getting permission to hunt a ranchers land if ya need more info pm me

Hunt the cedars in Park Valley on BlM if ya figure out them deer let me know!!!! LOL You are right near there when in Snowville.

If your a hiker there are a lot of deer on the Deweyvilles about 40 min away from snowville...But it is a lot of hiking. pm me if you want exact locations...

Yes I dont mind to hike I would rather hike, If I got something and I had hike I know I worked for it and it would be a bigger accomplishment. I will try to get out once with my dad who is not a hunter, I am 16 btw. So he will go with me up there and scout.

That is where I hunted last year. We hunted a large peice of private property with not a single tree on it. It sure was different for me.I passed on about a dozen bucks over 4 days. The biggest was a 24" 3 point with good mass. There are a lot bigger ones there. When I get out of the car I will post some pics. I did help my cousin shoot his first "non spike".

LAST EDITED ON Jul-13-07 AT 02:14PM (MST)[p]Thanks for the pics, Is there places up there where you can get away from the roads? I know there is places on some mountains where the roads are real close to eachother. Thanks for the help everyone, Hopefully I will get a better buck then what my uncle has told me. I want to hunt for real not like all the storys I herd from him. Almost all the bucks he has taken where spooked by other hunters.

I have no idea where to go on public land out there, sorry. If it were me I would look to the east and hit the mountians.
one last snowville buck. My uncle in 2005 muzzy season.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-13-07 AT 03:08PM (MST)[p]Thanks, I have been using google earth. I tried to make out roads on the mountains I want to get away from the roads. THanks for the pics to andy.

I live near snowville and while there are good bucks in the area, it is pretty much all private, and i give you a slim to none chance getting on someones property!, if you like to hike i would suggest north cache, the area is rugged and remote enough to hold a few big deer, and it is much more scenic than snowville!

I may have a few openings on some private ground west of snowville depending on the season, P.M me if you need additional info

RE: Snowville, Utah

I hunt the Snowville area every year, family owns land. I would say your best bet is to head towards the public land in Park Valley, if you are wanting to hunt Box Elder County. Virtually everything from Tremonton west is private land.

Try the Sawtooth Natnl. Forest area north of Park Valley. It's a little easier to enter from the Idaho side if I recall right. Lots of good country in there, lots of people too a couple of years back. Mostly road hunters so it's probably a good place to hike, bring your lungs, it's steep.
