Who Went Management??

I thought maybe if I threw this out there we could get a feel for how many points people were willing to give up for a management tag. I personally have 6 and put in for the Henry's. Who knows, maybe there is a giant 3 x 13 running around down there for me, however, I don't think 6 points is going to be enough. Lets hear how many points you put on the line for Management..

I applied (NR) with 9 points for the Pauns. The number of points a buck has is just not THAT big of deal for me.

I know of at least one resident with eight points that put in for the Pauns management hunt. I was willing to use my seven points, but had some better options.

My son (age 15) threw his 2 points at the Paunsaugunt management hunt. Since they're holding a percentage of the tags for youth, I figure he's got a chance (unless all the 17 year-olds in the state applied too). Anyway, I held on to my 10 points for something else.

I put my son in for the Henry's with 5 Pts. Don't think that is enough, but you never know. I'm still trying to draw an elk tag...

L.T.

I'll tell you guys one thing, I saw some absolute hawgs on the Henrys last year that would fit the criteria. I would shoot any of them with a regular tag. They were huge!

Good luck in the draws!

NR with 3 points on the Henrys. Now that I've seen the proposed number of tags I'm questioning my decision, oh well too late now.

I believe they proposed 9 tags. This info was on a posting in the general forum I think.

Nice. So far I am still in first place with Resident 6 points on the Henry's. Guess I better start getting ready.. ha ha...

I know of a resident with 12 points who put in for the management hunt. Dont ask me what he was thinking.

I talked my cousin who is 17 into puting in for the Pauns, then the Henry's with 5 points... COnsidering the odds were better for him than the rest of us, he was excited... I did not use my lousy 5 points for it, at least not yet... Maybe in another couple years??? Who knows...

hey I know of 4 guys who put in for the Henrys with 10pts Resident, managment hunt or not there is some really good 3X4s and 3Xnon-typs on that mountian!

Damn! 10 and 12 points. I guess those people think it is worth it in their own minds. Myabe they know something we don't. I knew there was a 220 inch 3x13 down there somewhere. Guess I can start un-packing. My meesley little 6 points isn't going to get it done it looks like.

This is how the proposed managment tag numbers should shake down. Correct me if I'm wrong!

*Pauns 45 Resident permits

14 to Youth hunters (7 preference - 7 random)
14 to hunters over 65 (7 preference - 7 random)
17 to all others (8 preference - 9 random)

*Pauns 5 Non resident permits

2 to Youth hunter (1 preference - 1 random)
2 to over 65 (1 preference - 1 random)
1 to the rest (1 random)

*Henrys 9 Resident permits

3 to Youth hunters (1 preference - 2 random)
3 to over 65 (1 preference - 2 random)
3 to the rest (1 preference - 2 random)

*Henrys 1 NR permit 1 for all that applied random draw

Now those are going to be some good odds!!! :D LOL...

I'm thinking if a lot of guys jumped ship to do the management hunt, it will jog the odds in the other hunts a little.
I saw some smoker bucks with only 3 on a side and lots of stuff on the other side, but some were broken...but they would still be legal even if broke..
