New Mexico 2b

Any pointers for this hunt I have a tag starting Nov 7th. I know it depends on Colorado weather but any ideas where to start and good camping areas. I am going to make a trip there before the hunt but any help would be good also what is the terrain like, Im ready to hunt hard hopefully I can kill a descent buck, any info let me know thanks.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-19-09 AT 00:05AM (MST)[p]This year will be the 7th that I have gone with a group of guys who hunt private land in 2b, 2c.

I had a tag the first year and took a very nice, square 5x5.

The guys I go with don't always all draw a deer tag, but at least one guy out of their group catches. Some years they buy elk hunts on private ranches......or antelope.

The first 3 years, we did the camp thing and had something stolen every year. That was before the private ranch deal came up.

You will learn more by going on the scout trip than I can tell you, but I would seriously consider staying in Farmington.

Your weather info is correct, but there are some SERIOUS deer in there all year. I have also sat in town thru a 3 day blizzard.

The area isn't over populated for a reason.
